Many of our clients have been affected by the October 2013 bushfires. We understand that during such a traumatic time, completing your tax return was put to the back of your mind.

"If you have been affected by a disaster, such as a flood, bushfire or storm, don't worry about your tax affairs right away. We will give you time to deal with your more immediate problems first and then we can help you to sort out your tax affairs later." says the ATO.

This can apply to people who are late lodging their individual tax returns, BAS's, SGC statement or those who owe money to the Australian Taxation Office.

The ATO may also be able to arrange for your refund to be made a priority if you have been affected by any natural disasters and your refund will be of assistance in recovering.
